A couple of times David and I would drive down into NSW to pick up our supplies, one time picking up a kilo of hash and another time picking up some true Buddha sticks. Life was great; there was plenty of drugs and plenty of good times. Most nights the three of us would go out night-clubbing, distributing our supplies to various friends and acquaintances.
Then I discovered Ecstasy. Gary, had a friend of his called Steve who had access to as many E’s as we could sell. It was not long before I was picking up over one thousand E’s on a regular weekly basis. Most of these were going to bulk buyers but there were always plenty for my current girlfriend and me.
Soon after the arrival of the E’s, I came across the one drug that could have been a problem. Through a friend of mine in the lighting business, I met a South American guy from Caracas that was importing almost pure cocaine.
I had tried coke before and thought nothing of it, I guess that was because what I had tried had probably been cut to buggery. Jose, had friends back in Caracas, that used to send him at regular intervals a couple of ounces of the very best quality coke. After trying it for the first time, it was easy to note the difference from what I had had earlier.
My personal use started off pretty slowly as cocaine is definitely an expensive drug. However I had recently met some people from one of the local commercial radio stations, who were old hands when it came to coke. After the first time I arranged some for them they were rapt, they told me it was as good or better than they had had anywhere in the world. Well Paul and Alan, not their real names, had incomes that would support regular indulgences in all types of recreational substances and high on their list was both coke and ecstasy. That being the case I was able to indulge to a greater degree by supplying them.
One weekend Paul from the radio station invited me and my girlfriend up to Noosa where he had been staying in a luxury apartment for the week with his girlfriend. Well what a weekend that was, from Sat afternoon to Sunday morning the four of us went through eight tabs of ecstasy and four grams of coke.

This is where the story is being brought up to date. All that you’ve read up to this point, was written nearly 15 years ago . . .
Even so, I can still remember that night well .
When Karmen and I were not sharing a wine and conversation with Paul and his lady, we spent a lot of time in and out of the sauna and plunge pool. I guess we were sweating out all the accumulated toxins. I remember standing with Karmen on the open rooftop watching the sun rise dressed only in a light sarong. This was in July. So OK Queensland winters are mild but it still would have been around 7 or 8 degrees Celsius.
Later that morning, on our way back to Brisbane, we dropped in on Jose and his wife who were living on the Sunshine Coast at the time. Even Jose could not believe we had done so many drugs that night. he said or eyes looked clear and bright and we looked clean and refreshed.

It’s interesting reading back through all this nearly 40 years after it all began and 15 since writing some of those memories down.
While reading through this I remembered other incidents and events, which I may, or may not, add to this over time.
Currently I live somewhere where the use of any drugs other than alcohol is frowned on rather severely. Consequently I don’t touch anything while here. I must say though, if you were to offer me a joint with coffee and conversation, I wouldn’t say no.
Final (for now)
