Take yourself to the Ball

Follow your name when you hear it called
Rip down all the writing from the wall
Set yourself set up for a gentile fall
Yesterday and today you love me as if Paul
But you can’t stand jealously and tomorrow Saul

Out on the borderlines of bravery and stupidity, the clay still grows tall
Yet I find nothing but weeds whispering behind the assembly hall
So drag your roses through the trenches, with your back against the wall
Then kiss me quick and take yourself to the ball

Take yourself to the Ball
