Rogue River – Siskiyou National Forest

HDR image

National Creek Falls is located in Southern Oregon, on the northwest border of Crater Lake National Park.
It is a moderate hike to reach the base of the falls. Because of its rather remote location it is beautifully preserved in it’s natural state.

This high dynamic range image was shot with a tripod mounted Canon XTi in the late afternoon light. A series of three exposures were made for a exposure range of 4 stops, then combined in Photomatrix Pro 3.

Have you thought of doing a calendar with your waterfall/forest green pix? I think it’d be a lovely addition to your collection!

  • Thanks Sarah..great idea. I owe you one! :)

This photo is absolutely stunning!! I LOVE the soft shutter speed, and your use of HDR is EXCELLENT! Instead of creating a hyperrealistic scene, which is very popular, you used it to compensate for the uneven light, and the result is simply wonderful. Awesome, awesome work!

  • are very kind!
The extreme HDR always looked over-cooked to me!
