It’s a garbage can, in case you hadn’t noticed. I think my dad still has it, but it’s now rusted through so badly that it’s unusable. It’s a family trait to save things like that.

There’s something appealing about rust, at least when it’s on something you don’t particularly care about. The texture of it usually interrupts a smooth, metallic surface, and provides contrast on so many levels. Not to mention the practical uses of the various iron oxides.
