Lost In A Moment

I wrote this for my English class back in the beginning of December

The sun shines down, bright and inviting;

Millions and millions of

Rays.

Through the clouds they break, exclaiming

The coming of an exquisite day.

Here the wind blows, whispering in my ear

A calming, soothing

Rush.

The water zig-zags through my toes,

Sounding like nothing; A quiet hush.

Not the crash of the ocean waves,

Instead, more silent and

Shallow.

In the distance, the vision of young boats is seen,

My feelings become increasingly mellow.

Buzzing is heard, through and through,

Pebbles crunching silently under critters small

Feet.

The smell of sweet grass reaches my nose,

And my stress at last admits defeat.

Here I sit, swinging my legs,

In a rhythmic pattern they

Go.

Off the edge of the wood, damp yet warmed by the sun

As warm as my heart that shines aglow.

My reflection in the water smiles back at me,

Ripples disfiguring it with a mere

Touch.

The singing and whistling coming from spots above,

The sound is music to my ears, just that much.

A place where sadness has no meaning;

That sadness replaced with such simple

Bliss.

The dark clouds of life chased away by the atmosphere,

Astounded by the beauty; Nothing compares to this.
