While attending the Ohio State Fair in Columbus, Ohio, I was lucky enough to see the 9/11 Traveling Memorial. It’s a humbling experience to see all the photos of lost heroes, video tapes of the events of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, and items collected at Ground Zero.
This Port Authority Police door panel was one of the pieces on display.
I remember waking up earlier than I normally would have that day because I had to help my father with something. I had turned on the news, and in moments saw the plane crash. It was a surreal experience. I cannot imagine what it must have been like for those in New York, at the Pentagon, or on Flight 93 at the time.
This September 11th will mark the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
We must never take our life for granted. Live well. Love much. Laugh often. And NEVER forget.
