    thanks everyone for the kind words. i wish i had better quality image files to upload, but alas this is as good as it gets. to give a bit of insight into the image, paul had wanted a picture to show his sophisticated standing-around-with-a-pipe-sipping-cognac (or whatever it is you drink out of those glasses) kind of picture. the stockings were a happy accident while painting, but he is a bit of a ladies man… i wanted to put a white tiger in there initially, but that got too complicated. Usually it takes me at least four months to make a picture, but this was whacked out in one.

    Really wonderful style and telling composition, great to look at. Which can sometimes be problematic with portraits, having enough there to draw the viewer in and come back for more.
