When you take a photograph of a vintage vehicle in a show ground or museum etc, the busy background, all too often spoils the image. However, I like to think of it as a challenge, for with a little imagination and a lot of patience, such an image can be transformed into a work of art. And although this photo had a reasonably good background, my want to do something creative with it compelled my artistic nature to make some changes; I hope you approve :O)
Using Adobe Elements:
For the background, I used one of my textured images, changed its colour and tone to suit. Added a blue gradient, lowered the opacity and multiplied the images together. For the car, I cut out the car, feathered it and kept it on top of the layers; I also created a pen wash from the original image, and again using multiply, I added it to the background, which helped tie all the layers together.
