Artist's Description

A small alley way to the toilet in the house I grew up in Bangkok. We were living upstairs and has a kitchen and a toilet/shower downstairs in the open outside the house. I was young and the way we lived didn’t seem odd to me. Although once I turned teenager, I started to feel akward having to come downstairs to have a shower pass our neighbour’s house (the left of the photograph) and people would be walking pass, some were in telephone booth.
I took this picture in July 2006 when I went back home to visit my dad and the house. Nothing have changed. It was the first time I went back home ater I’ve moved to England with my mum, when the lifestyle dramatically changed. I was shock to see the way I used to live but looking back at it now, I enjoyed every minute of living there with my family. It was OUR HOUSE.
