The Invasion

Across sterilized, sun-soaked desert sand we watched bombs blow our bodies to pieces.
I am… …the unfinished puzzle
Broken, half-bent rays of sunshine melt the flesh into the sky.
……..I think……………I feel……….god…………………watching
It’s still raining bullets. Why didn’t I bring the umbrella?
The lizards look to me (as if I can tell them what to do)
I look to them (as if they can tell me what to do)
We could. Go on. Like this. For hours.

I stare. They stare.
.it all means the same thing.
.it is all the same in the end.

How will I tell my family I was killed by storm trooper teddy bears?
I reach for hugs
They give me napalm.
“WASH YOUR FACE WITH IT”, they say.
“IT REVEALS NEWER, BRIGHTER SKIN!!FOR IMMEDIATE RESULTS, APPLY AFTER SUCKING CARBON MONIXIDE!!”
(avoid eye contact)

In times like these I would always count the holes in my wrists
,as I wondered aloud,
How could something so small keep me from falling * * *
Down
…into the unlit canyons of unconsciousness…
maybe I’m already there
maybe I’ve always been there
Reading my morning newspaper. Drinking coffee. Ice melting softly between my toes.
.there is no cold when you are already numb.
We love
We fight.
We cry.
We die.
And
In
The
End
(:we enjoy:)

Eternal
<>
Uninterrupted
<>
Silence
