Hand drawn, pen and ink, drawing of crosses in a pattern. I like to think it looks like embossed iron or something like that! On plain white cartridge paper.

I find the use of crosses in these repeating patterns interesting. For me, they have a somewhat confused, emotive meaning. I grew up in a very Christian home, where belief was taken as absolute, the only option. The Christian crucifix was therefore an important symbol for me.

As I grew up and realised I had no emotional nor intellectual connection to the religion, the Cross has lost it’s religious significance. Instead, it should be " just a cross", although I still find myself drawn to it on a more aesthetic level. It could be said that it’s a symbol both of what I once was and what I am now.

Born in London and based in the Midlands, UK, and hoping someone finds my scribblings and likes what they see…

Most works are pen and ink, detailed and use patterns and repeating or mechanical forms.
