The Australian Aboriginal legend of the Boab Tree (or Bottle Tree):
“When the tree God created the Boab Tree it was to be the most beautiful of all trees in the universe, with the most beautiful flowers and bearing the juiciest fruit. But as the tree grew to maturity its flowers were mediocre and its fruit had a bad odour and tasted vile. The Tree God became so angry that he yanked the Boab out of the ground and slammed it back in the earth upside down and that is why today, when you see a Boab tree, it looks as if its roots are growing up in the air.”

Baobabs are amazing Teachers… I grew up around California Baobabs and Sequoia, among other leafy Teachers. Hmm, I think I’ve written about Sequoias but not the Baobab yet…. yet. :) I simply adore this capture. Obviously, I already adore the main subject… but I also love the dreamy layers created by the fields and mist… the light is so rich, it’s probably more fattening than fresh farm butter! Gorgeous feast for the eyes
:) wishing you laughter

I was looking at the tree thinking it looked familiar and then compared it with my shot..same tree.!!! i saw it from the corner of my eye as we drove past, trekked across the field and took a few shots> love it!

Lovely! There is something so captivating by a solitary tree in nature and this one has such a great form! It makes for such a unique tree silhouette! Your composition as always excellent, love the layers of hills in the distance and the mist adds a magical touch!
