Utility Turkey

I don’t know if you call them that where you live but here we can buy frozen turkeys that only have one wing or leg and they are graded as ‘utility’. That’s how I’ve been referring to myself for the last few days. :-D

On Thursday this ‘turkey’ tripped and fell. I used my right arm to break the fall and wound up with an impacted wrist fracture. Broken in three places and the ends of the bones shattering with the impact into the joint. So I have a delightfully heavy plaster cast and some even more delightful pain meds!!! LoL

I am quite pathetic with my left hand so if i add a poorly typed comment to one of your photos just blame my turkey status….....or those meds!

Holly :-)

Hi BC…..no, at the moment the camera is on ice as much as my wrist. With the beginning of budding abd blossoming here it’s a bit upsetting but my goal is to try and get my fingers moving enough in the next couple of weeks so i can use the camera. Even if i can’t edit anything for a while perhaps i’ll at least be able to get some shots that could be worked on when i’m functioning again.

Oh poor you Holly – severe pain and the frustration of not being able to do what you want as well. Your typing is pretty good for being left-handed. Hope it all heals up quickly and that the pain eases off too.

hahahahahaha…..just left of the Atlantic Ocean Jon…..then take a right when you get to the St. Lawrence river. Keep going until you see the CN tower (that tall thing that looks like it has a toothpick on the top), hang a sharp right and when you see the turkey perched on a tripod, aim and shoot!

thank you so much Carolyn. your prayers are truly appreciated. knowing this will heal makes me ever-more aware of the incredible power of our God to have created us in such a way that we actually do heal. Quite a remarkable thing but then He is quite a remarkable God! :-)

thanks Andy!! i’m hoping another week and i’ll be able to try some simple things. right now i need to keep my arm rather still but i’ll be at it the first possible moment!!! those buds are bursting fast everywhere i look!!! hmmm….a photo assistant might not be dfo-able but you’ve made me think about the idea of setting up some still life on the dining table. i might just give that a try as soon as i can!
