Blossoming Apple Blossom
Last spring I was in great anticipation of blossom season…as I am at the moment! A photographer friend had posted the most lucious image of apple blossoms and I wanted to see what I could manage. Well….my photograph didn’t measure up to Hardhhhat’s in the least. However, I managed this.
This was in the garden of a heritage home that has been donated to the City for preservation. A gardening group has taken an interest in developing the grounds with beautiful fruit trees, bulbs and an assortment of lovely flowers providing continuous colour. What a delightful thing to be out with the camera in a garden. I can understand Claude Monet saying, “I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers.”

I love it when an image makes me say ‘wow’ as soon as I see it and this one certainly had that effect. I love flowers and this is a wonderful example of natures gift. Well done x

Thanks Jan!! I think I’ve been promoted. LoL Last year when I was photographing dandelions ad nauseum I referred to myself as the Weed Queen. :-D

Thank you so much Carolyn! And today there were signs of very tiny buds on the trees. I’m watching them like a hawk and just waiting for the huge orchards nearby to come into bloom. I can hardly wait! :-)

Go get ‘em! Can’t wait to see what you will capture next! :)

Holly – Thanks for the honourable metnion ;) I’ll have to fish that one out and post it again. This is a lovely shot of the blossom – you have captured the colours and details of the delicate petals. The shot on the card looks better with the buds shown as well. All in all a nice shot.
