This is a piece of my daughter’s pottery and one of my favourites. I love the shape and glaze on this one and, of course, I’m so proud of her and that her teacher has told her she’s advancing surprisingly quickly. I’m not surprised. :-D

your the only person I know who can turn a bunch of veg into an ART form – the colours are to die for – the comp and light are brilliant and the work is worthy of an Art gallery – STUNNING
Holly Cawfield replied
Oh my….thank you so much Pat! This little pot has been through so many set ups trying to get the right match….I’m glad you think this works! :-)

Lovely use of lighting to display this lovely composition! Your still life never ceases to amaze me! The background so nicely compliments your daughter’s pottery! beautiful work Holly! : )
Holly Cawfield replied
Thank you so much Sandy…what a lovely comment!! I have the very good fortune to have a sunroom that gets wonderful light all day…it really helps when working on a still life. And so much less expensive than buying a set of studio lights! :-D

Carolyn Staut
Such superb work Holly. Your still life work is really evolving into full masterpieces. There is a wonderful and creative balance to this whole piece as you contrast the light with the dark. Katie’s pottery is so lovely and accents the peace with style and class. Again, you have taken the simple and shown it to be brilliant.
Holly Cawfield replied
Oh Carolyn….I’m so glad you think the balance is good. I mentioned already that I’ve fiddled with so many compositions for this piece of pottery that I’ve practically worn out the vegetables. :-) Thank you for the comment about the pottery itself too….I’ll pass that along to Katie! You are such an encouragement!!

Wonderful classic Still Life….your technique makes it feel like an old Dutch work…
Holly Cawfield replied
Janis, I really thank you for that. I’m still trying to learn about still life and finding it all great fun…but I can hardly believe how many little things there are that will ‘trip up’ a picture. All part of the process of course!
Megan Martin
