Old Mill Waterfall

Old Mill Waterfall

The Old Mill restaurant is something of a Toronto landmark. The mill was constructed in the middle of the 19th century and was dismantled in order for the expansion of the restaurant and inn. There are lovely gardens and fountains surrounding the building and isn’t there something so leisurely about having lunch and then taking a walk along their garden paths. Of course I brought the camera along!

Wonderful, it sounds like a magical place Holly.

  • Holly Cawfield replied

It’s wonderful Pat! Always a treat to go there for lunch. My mother and father went there for special occasions when they were dating back in the 1940’s and I have one of the menus from then. Ha! A salmon dinner cost fifty cents then….and it was expensive at that time! They still serve afternoon tea which is one of their most important traditions.

What a beautiful setting. Can you actually see the waterfalls from the restaurant or do you have to walk to it? Great photo. I like the slo-mo of the water.

  • Holly Cawfield replied

Thank you for the comment Nana….and I apologize for not responding sooner. Somehow I missed this before. The waterfall is just around the side of the restaurant in their gardens.
