debris

washed up on the shore
a japanese toothpaste tube
a wing mirror
a child’s toy
remembrance
of tsunami devastaion
where are the people
now

suicide nets still hung low
under the ipad factory dorm
window
dying easier
than working
for $2 an hour
to benefit the
techno boom
hindrance
of access to their families and homes
how can we justify this
now

so far advanced
so far removed
from where we
need to be
and need to go
now

so much debris
with little human warmth
to show

  • Thanks jainie…..just another example of modern society and the conflicting reality between technological progress and the lack of understanding about the toll it all takes on humanity…..where is our universal compassion i find myself asking time and again
