Portrait of an old decorated veteran holding in all that he has seen and experienced.

I am a veteran myself, having served from 1967 to 1970 in the army, with one year in Korea having just missed going to Vietnam due to the capture of the USS Pueblo by North Korea. When I returned to the Army Map Service in Washington DC, I sometimes was sent to the Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Army Hospital on military business where I saw many of the Vietnam wounded.

This painting is in memory and dedication to them.

While in Korea I started painting during evenings and weekends as a way to pass the time.  Later in Washington DC, I spent weekends painting in the Maryland and Virginia countryside.

In 1990 I was hired by The Walt Disney Company as a Design Manager.  During the 10 years at Disney I worked on many exciting projects.

My artwork has been exhibited in Florida, Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey.

Excellent image … I felt this mans tiredness and pain as soon as I looked at him! Congratulations on having this selected for RB home page.

Maybe it’s the beard, but I thought this looked like a Cuban who was war weary. No sense for my reaction,
    but the painting is wonderful!!!
