I have always created art. As a small child I learned to read early and my love of words was born. Reading spawned images and creations inside my mind; words have always been a reliable and dependable muse. All my artwork is a direct result of my encounters with powerful words. I was lucky to be born in a time of technological explosion. Men were landing on the moon, and we were watching it happen on television at home. We didn’t have cable T.V.,
video games, or cell phones. The world of imagination and books was an escape; a refuge for an ever changing and more complicated world.

Creating art for a living started with a thrift store table, a handful of cheap acrylic paints, and a life changing illness. I needed something to help me translate my experiences as a human being, to take what was happening and turn it into something productive and beautiful. I painted that table, and many more furniture items in the years that followed. I still enjoy painting furniture, but my creative energies needed more freedom than furniture/recycled
items would allow. I moved to canvas as the primary form for my expressions after the first few solo shows of art & objects d’art; and so my mixed media work bloomed. From there, it was a small leap to oil painting and the challenge of mastering the different mediums that most interest me. That was years ago, hundreds of artworks have been created and sold since then; it’s now ten years later and I am still curious, inspired and determined.

When I am finished with a work my strongest desire is to share it with the world. I love learning how other people interpret my works, and what people discover and resonate with in my work. I do not have answers to any of the problems of this life/reality; with my art, I uncover the important questions that need to be asked.

When I am working in studio, I discover a place where mind, body, spirit connect. This connection allows my work to flow from a place of pure inspiration, curiosity, and discovery. I work for the joy of it, I work to create a world of my own, Welcome to my world.
