Nice! Wonderful portrait Helen. Good thing about hair, it always grows! If you/he miss the dreads, they can always grow back…....but it will take a while to get as long as I think they looked in other shots of Jay. :o) Pray tell, why did they go?
H M Bascom replied 24 days ago
His dreads were below his waist. :-)

Howdy Jay, you look great without the dreadlocks, last haircut I had I used the clippers with no comb and I was nearly bald, I couldn’t dry my head with a towel after a shower because it would stick on the stubble… :-)

Well, at his work, they passed a new “grooming code” that requires men to wear their hair above their collars. Of course, women can wear their hair as long as they want. He thought to roll his dreads up and put them in a hat, but the code forbids the wearing of hats. SOooooooo for months I would roll them up on his head off his collar. But even then his supervisor kept harassing him about his hair. If even one little lock dropped out of the roll and touched his collar, he would be written up for a dress code/grooming violation. He got tired of fighting with them and just went and cut them off. I am not happy with his decision, but it was his decision to make.

working for the man sucks! I always get in trouble with the dress code, not supposed to wear blue jeans (except on ‘casual friday’) under our lab coats. It actually says the word ‘blue’, so I wear my brown ones, my black ones and my grey ones. heh heh I always have to point out that they are not BLUE and then mutter something like if I made even $2 more an hour, I might be able to afford to go purchase more appropriate clothing….... Hopefully it won’t be an issue for much longer…..still waiting to hear about the job at the spa…....
Sorry Jay had to cut his hair but I understand getting worn down by the constant hasseling ….... Maybe listening to David Crosby will help. :o)
