What a beautiful station, Jayne! Wonderful shot! Sounds like a trip on that wee railway line would definitely be something to experience and enjoy!

  • I have take this train ride a couple of times. It really is like stepping back in time. The thrill of the steam trains puffing along the track is a wonderful experience and the scenery along the way is so very beautiful. A definite must if you’re ever in this area.

Terrific Jayne and I love everything about it. Whoever set it all up really bent over backwards to re-create the atmosphere of it’s former glory days and your photo is a winner. The hanging baskets are very reminiscent of a station called KURANDA in far north Queensland – if you look it up in Google you’ll see what I mean.
    Take care
    Peter

  • Thank you Peter. Arley station is so very quaint. The other bonus when visiting Arley is that they have a tearoom. It’s so small that there is only one table inside. You buy your cream tea than you walk across the road to an area set up with tables, bences and umbreallas alongside the river Stour. It is so very peaceful. In the distance you can see and hear the steam trains passing by which they do so about every hour or so. Off to check out Kuranda on Google now. Thanks for that.
