I spent some time on this local island to Cairns, Nth QLD where my family live. I’ve stayed on the island several times however it has been mostly during the wet season, which means there’s always cloud obstructing the rising sun.

This particular shot was taken a little earlier in the year in Sept, and for a brief five minutes, the eastern horizon put on a show. I’m very glad having made the effort to get up early, despite having a hang over….. the perfect cure!
