Artist's Description

A satirical twist to Savile Lumley’s famous recruitment poster from the First World War. A landscape version of this pic was first published as an editorial cartoon in The Canberra Times on April 28, 2010. It followed the decision of the Australian Government to delay its Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme. The Prime Minister Kevin Rudd had previously described global warming as “the great moral challenge” of our time.
