Alien encounter by hinting

I was lucky enough to watch the games inside the famous Watercube (Beijing National Aquatics Center). It is designed a consortium made up of PTW Architects (my workplace), Arup international engineering group, CSCEC, and CCDI.

This is a scene after the synchronised swimming finals on the 23rd of August 2008. Some of the visitors were trying to touch this giant bubble. Everyone was really excited and happy to be there.

Wow.. this is fantastic. I love this and the title you have given it gives it a brilliant twist. This building really could be out of this world! It really is a superb piece of architectre and you were so lucky to be working on it – good for you and well done on a brilliant image!

I echo Paul’s comments. It really is a great photo. It never fails to impress me how given individuals – like yourself – can take a fantastic photo where others would just capture a drab scene.. Well done.

    Thanks Paul and Mark.
It wasn’t easy to get in the building in Olympic mode, and the spectators are asked to leave after each game. That was a lucky moment.

Great shot under pressure, exposure is pretty dab on, a very interesting subject.

great shot! I went for the Good Luck Games leading up to the Olympics, but it was at night and the inside shots were nowhere near as nice as this!
