Hi welcome to my red bubble web site.
I believe that first impressions are most important in the first instance, to you as a viewer of a piece of art work that you are attracted to, is the inspiration that the artist has been able to successfully convey. Being able to communicate visually is a very powerful language, and I feel privileged to have a part to play in the visual arts.

Originally I grew up in a town called Margaret River, situated in the south west of western Australia. Although I wasn’t born there, my family moved there from Perth Western Australia when I was about three years old, when my father was transferred due to the nature of his work, that dealt with lives stock.
understandably I believe that growing up in the “bush” had an influence on my art.
I now consider Perth my home after moving here in 1980, when I was Twenty years old, I love to paint the city of Perth and the surrounding areas, but I also Like to paint the scenery around the south west, because there is such a contrast between the north and south of western Australia.

Over the years have sold my art work through commissions, exhibitions and privately from my studio, even though I have had no formal training in art, it just seemed to come naturally to me and I have learnt techniques as I have gone along.

I would describe my self as a versatile artist able to take on commissioned art work, but I have also been able to sell my original work as well. I love to paint my surroundings, painting every day life scenes, in land scape, still life, and wild life, fascinated by our ever changing multi cultural society in our every day lives, and beliefs.

The main medium I use is oil paint, for me Oil paint on canvas gives me the all round flexibility I desire, although occasionally I paint with acrylic on canvas. However I have also used pastel chalks in my earlier works, and more recently I experimented with water based inks on paper with some good out comes.
