I reads: Here lyeth the body of William Addison who died age 20 of Aug (August) in the 19 year of his age 1682 (they used old English in those days, hence the lyeth) The Addison family still live at Egglestone Hall.
Sad to have died at that tender age.
Such poignancy and he must have been highly regarded to have had this grave stone erected.j
It is actually set into the floor of the church, so highly regarded. hugsxxx
This is really well preserved Hilary, hardly weathered at all..thanks for showing it!!!
It is set into the floor of the church, had a lot of feet over it, but no weather. hugsxxx
Such a sad tombstone…Well done Hun!

that is old,,,,,,,,,,,,,great catch
Wow, that’s old.
Great capture Hilary – I wonder if he is visited by any of his family members
Egglestone Hall isn’t that where Ladette to Lady is filmed? I can’t believe there are too many Egglestone Halls. Excellent shot.
that’s the place, they have their own chapel (or did it is a ruin now) and their own graveyard,) so there must have been something special to get him inside the church. I will make enquiries. hugsxxx
