eyes like daggers pierce my soul
what are they looking for
what are they looking at
...i don’t have it, whatever it is

is there something they see that i can’t
or is it everything they see that i can’t
am i riddled with faults
all i see are imperfections

do they see imperfections
or do i reflect theirs
the arm wrestle of self doubt consumes me
at what point do i concede?

    “arm wrestle of self doubt” is such a powerful image, I could read this over and over and still get so much more out of it… and that is what they say of good art – it can stand many viewings…
