The weight of your breath

I’ve seen you get hurt
seen you feeling the worst
seen you scribbling your thoughts down
with screams in a verse.
I’d fight off your monsters
if I got to them first,
and I’d never taste water
if that would quench your thirst.

And as the rain falls;
makes impressions in dirt,
I see you falling too
but you hit the ground first.
I want to take that away;
all your pain, and that curse,
when you try to look forward
but think in reverse.

You said death was a flirt,
said the nights were the worst
said you couldn’t stop thinking
of how little you’re worth.
Well you’ve got it so wrong
you mean more than a hearse
you mean more to me than
any Heaven or Earth,
and it may take my life
but I’ll gladly die first
if it meant that you, darling,
never felt less than perf-ect

The weight of your breath
