Wonderful homage Hidemi, and thanks for the great emails. It has been fascinating to watch this work evolve. The folds in the headgear are exceptional, and those subtle, warm shadows on the shoulder and face are magical. You are SO good!
thank you very much Lynda. i am so happy to hear that from you. i am still not satisfied with this result, but this is the limit for me now, lol.
I think you’ve done a great job Hidemi…what you may be finding difficult is balancing the intensity of your colours…soften them and make them most intense where the light and shadow meet on the contour edges. And I’m not a fan of using green in skin tones…I know many artists use it but unless it’s controlled really well, it tend to be unflattering. If you want to use green I suggest to make it much less intense and grey it down with your inbetween skin tones…just soft and only in a few places…as the saying goes, less is more.
I hope this helps…it’s not a criticism my friend…just a suggestion on the things I do with my own works and what I’ve learned from studying
thank you very much my dear Tahnja. any color is difficult for me to control. this month i want to study color.
