Hopetoun Falls by

A second shot from my day trip on New Years Eve to the Otways. This one is a little more ‘tweaked’ and a slower shutter speed than the first shot I posted.

Shot with a Nikon D60 in Raw format then edited with CS5

About Hicksy

G’day, I’m hobbyist photographer from Wallan, a small (but rapidly growing) town just outside of Melbourne, Australia. I do tend to shoot landscapes although there is some other stuff I shoot from time to time thrown into the mix.

That’s great, if a little dark?

  • Thanks Nik,

Yep it is a little dark, the problem is the location as the falls are at the bottom of a gorge (almost a round section of shear cliffs) surrounded by tall trees. The challenge was to balance the dull tones where the sunlight wasn’t breaking through without our over exposing the light bouncing of the water.
