New York Infantry Memorial by Fraser Ross

Located at the Little Round Top in Gettysburg Battlefield. This was the turning point in the Civil War and where the Confederates nearly won the battle. It was thanks to the men from Maine who saved the day for the Union Army. An interesting fact is that the two sections of the Armies who fought the skirmish at Little Round top were both from small villages. One in the North and one in the South. If you drew a line on the map between the two villages Little round top is on the line exactly half way!!
