A detail from my XL-painting Esc from the concrete jungle at 1 lux

The reason I publised this detail is because I feel that the entire painting does not come across very well on a computer screen. This detail is more suitable for viewing via RedBubble.

The running man is not a digital insert or a sticker. I used a stencil and stencil brush.

The painting represents the complexity of modern buildings and the difficulty of escaping them in case of an emergency. It is also is about wanting to escape the modern big city life and the concrete structures that can be so horrifying at times.

The 1 lux mentioned in the title refers to the minimum level of lighting that is required to be able to leave a building safely (European standard EN 1838).

If you like to see the proces of the making of this painting, please take a look at my journal .

I enjoy painting abstracts. I love to use different techniques to create an image. I love it when a painting just happens. No thoughts, no plans, just colors, brushes, sponges and all sorts of materials and tools. Whatever is effective.

I have a great admiration for authentic artists. The passion always shows in their art. This is my aim. To make authentic art that radiates.
