This about 1 1/2 inch (3-4cm) tall hermit crab has planned a great life. First it lives on the beach in the zone in and between the see and the land. Every time it grows up too much, it changes it’s house. But if it don’t find any shelter anymore, the soft part of it’s body hardens and get covered with a carapace, too. It still grows until this species has grown up to the big coconut crab (Also known as palm thief or Birgus latro). Amazing! Seen in the Raja Ampat, West Papua, Indonesia.
