Brilliant…when scoring the fish did its talons break the water very much or did it skim lightly? You know they are restricted to a certain weight…if the prey is too heavy they struggle to get up and can drown.

it skimmed lightly only small fish I have seen Sea Eagles in Bemm River taking huge Poddy Mullet and it seems to me sometimes it is a big struggle to lift the fish out of the water

I could be off the mark here and getting confused…but i think once they have the talons locked, they can only be released on firm ground or branch etc…
