I can smell the salt air and the cotton candy and feel the hot pavement scorching my little feet. Thanks Helen!
Helen Phillips replied
I know what you mean Patti, Nivea suncream would be the smell of the seaside for me ;) Thanks!
jayview
really speaks of summer holidays!
Helen Phillips replied
Thanks Jayview, it does, and yet many people I know want it pulled down!
jayview
what a shame – hope they don’t succeed or we will lose all the beachside character!

oh boy…I used to go there when I was a kid….my gran lived at Manly…
Helen Phillips replied
Hi Christine, I hope it brings back good memories. Nearly every little beach house that is sold, gets knocked down and a new large modern “box” appears in its place. Wish I’d taken photos of them all…. Thanks for your comment.
ChristineBetts
god I hate those ‘boxes’ I actually work in construction and I am so happy when someone wants to renovate….but too many of them think they need 5 bedrooms and 6 ensuites!! and I am not exaggerating!!!
:):) long live the old shack!!!!!!
