The cost of "Fitting In"

This is a fantastic painting (as always from you). It’s so much easier being a man though :) All we need is shampoo, shower gel, underarm deodorant, toothbrush, razor and aftershave … and a hair brush :) sorry – I couldn’t resist teasing :)

the age is demanding…
love is needed..

and luring in a plump youn lady.

brilliant painting helene, so skillful, i gave up ‘fitting in’ years ago…. moisturiser and lipstick is all i use, and tough if it doesnt suit!!!! good on you…. great statement.. vive la femme!!! xxx

I just wait now I don’t buy all that stuff anymore..(well occassionally I do) but I have 4 sisters and they give me all these cosmetics and things…hha!!

Great ideas behind this one helene. We are always reading about how to transform ourselves…remove yet another layer of our skin with a special scrub or cream, camoflage our skin with a miracle foundation, put a tuck here and there. I often wonder how these women cope with their body/facial plastic surgeries…and their partners…transforming to their new personas. Who are we REALLY looking at? What if our wrinkles were celebrated as memory marks of beauty. Thought provoking work ~ Anni :)

Wow! Especially the older we get, the expectations are a battle…i find that true almost everyday….we are our worst critics for sure…cant find just that one miracle “cure”...xoxo

I’m less bothered now I’m 50 and out of the race – pain and being out of it, must have its plus side!

Where would the economy be if we all accepted ourselves and were satisfied with our selves as we are?! All these billions women spend on being a bit more like the standard doll image… oh, being just satisfied with the basics will cause a new economical crisis, so don’t you start preaching, eh;-)
