Beautiful Helene! It is unfortunate that so many don’t even know they are wearing masks. Even those who are aware have an uphill journey to permanently discarding them. This is an inspiration to continue that journey.

    Helene, Love,
This world certainly conditions us to ‘buy and wear masks’. Proud of you for this exasperated painting of those that surround you that don’t “have eyes to see and ears to hear”. People are taught to interact from their heads and not their hearts. THANK GOD, Helene….you speak from the heart!
Sometimes we have to backtrack in our lives to see the spiritual creative remedy for our defficiency of heart and voice. Got to do the homework! Got to WANT (INTENTIONALITY I CALL IT!) to do the homework!
I adore you, Helene! You are my hero.
I am so glad we share a heart.
    Bless you.
    XOXO,
    Mariam

Helen .. what a strong indictment of how we present ourselves to others in these times….i think we as a society are so quick to judge others that to many masks are the first defense in guarding their hearts…. i am learning as i journey my own path thatt i need to find my own aanswers ,,, my own truths… annd by calmly examing my deep inner feelings i am more able to shed my defenses…. for i’m at a greater peace with myself and therefore am no longer afraid of being hurt or judged…............ i believe many others are also finding this to be true…... the feeling of being alone leaves us if we are willing to reach out and embrace other people of spirit and truth…........ peace and light…........b

I think it’s a great representation. But we need to have grace for those who wear them, because we may come to find out it was us all along! We’re all on a journey, I think. For me…this piece is a warning and a reminder to treat others the way I want to be treated, and be mindful of my own tendancies to hide when I feel vulnerable, threatened, insecure, or whatever. Great job! Such an evocative piece!!! Oh…and also, not to get sucked into other people’s games…to rise graciously above it!!

Congrats with the feature, my friend! Yes, it is frustrating that most people are hiding behind their safe masks, till you can’t REALLY communicate with almost anyone. And the masks seem to stick to the faces, till they become the person. Are we the aliens, or are they, who know the rules so well? It feels lonely, at times…

So real for people Helene. If someone asked me what I was really all about….I honestly would not know how to describe myself because I am many different things to many different people….but I am no longer a people pleaser, that is for sure, so that role I dropped altogether. I am not called ‘the mouth’ in my family for nothing and I have extended that to the outside world too. I do think that the one person who gets to know us completely….inside, outside and every which way is the lover….or the one person that we love that makes us fee complete and yet I have found that I am so multi-faceted that I am still discovering myself every day. xx
