It has the pang of the Frida Khalo´s works… the object of pain is oneself…
One would like to get ride of it..
but he most os place it “outside” and contemplate it with compassion..
and in this way make bereable the unbereable. It is wonderful expressive and intense

I get the Frida Kahlo references, as I am intrigued by this work, but I also find it somewhat disturbing. Frida’s work has also captured me in quite the same way. She is one of my favorite artists. I guess I have issues with pain? peace…

Well, when you put it that way, it works for me! I so happy to hear that art is bringing you joy, and helping you to deal with the pain, I understand, I too deal with a non-physical pain on a daily basis. Keep at it! Peace…

Wow…amazing piece. I can so relate to it. It feels like a thousand needles every single day to even move. I am on depression medicine but it isn’t working yet hah. I feel pain every day of my life as well. Every single day. It never stops but I live on the best I can. Like somebody is pushing needles in with every movement. Excrutiating. But I deal. It is what causes my depression, the pain. I plan on doing a piece about mine soon as well. I wish to paint it though so will have to see when I can paint again hah. My pain for me never fills like I leave my body hah matter in fact it is what brings me to reality like a slap in the face. I wish I could leave my body hah Why I draw/paint. It is my escape from the pain.

Thanks. Hopefully I will get to turn on some music and paint again soon. I am looking forward to it. Have more to add here and would make me feel great. I am thinking of doing the Shadow pic over. Tho I have been told I should never paint over work that is finished or complete. Just being here on this site has made me realize how much better I want to be. How much time I want to devote to making things just right. Some of these pieces could have taken months. Mine usually take a day or two.

A friend of mine said if he’s not in pain it means he’s dead. Yup, I so understand that one.
I was given medication that I can’t take long term but when I was given it in the hospital I realized that I wasn’t in pain anymore. I started to cry because I’d forgotten how it felt to not be in pain. It’s a part of my everyday, every second life.
I think of chronic pain as a bad pair of glasses I’m forced to wear. I look through the glasses of pain and everything I do and see is filtered through those glasses. I really want a new pair of glasses but like others, I’ve tried to adjust my vision to accommodate the distortion. Sometimes I can deal with it and other times my mind says enough. The mind does protect itself. Once it’s had enough it’ll find a way to cope, be it through dissociation aka leaving one’s body or through ways like art as you have done.
I want a new body but I’m not getting one so I have to find ways to cope, art helps a lot.
Smiles to you and yours,
Austin
