a bronx sunrise

11×14 acryl on canvas
looked out my apt window at 5 am and the only “life” i saw was of a homeless man sleeping on the roof of a building with a knocked over bottle of wine, and i could “feel” the spirits of the past agonizing over the loss of “vibrance” and “dreams” in our community

a bronx sunrise belongs to the following groups:

Oh ! I wish you could come with me at the lake and watch the sun« waking up» as my grandaughter says.It must be very special to see the sunrise in the bronks,a lot of spirit wants to get out, those faces again and somebody is sleeping on the roof…magic blues and reds

wow…u saw it all in this painting micmac….u really did catch it all….it was from my kitchen window at about 5 am….i could see the imprisoned spirits from the past trapped in what is now the ghetto…trying to play their instruments and their music be heard, trying to bring back hope to a community which has become a cemetary … the person on the rooftop was a homeless man sleeping next to his empty bottle of alcohol tipped over

Fantastic. The spirits (or ghosts?) rising up to evaporate like fog with the rising of the sun. Cool work. Great imagery.

Your work leaves a strong impact on me.
I can feel the despair of the alcoholic hiding
from the world on the rooftop. One day he will
drink himself to death up there, or the spirits
will force him to seek the help he needs.
Congrats again on winning the title ‘Artist
of the Month’ for the Current Issues Group.

what a sight, it must seen, like too many lost souls there to absorb in your sight? i hate cities now and am happy in paradice here, if we live long enough and see too much, we learn what love n hate really means without, being sucked in to it?

Reminds me a little of Klimts work. He also had spirits around in his work. Good and Bad. Pray for the good ones to stay with you and the bad ones to go away.

helene, I love the warmth that sunrise brings, the new hope and dreams at the start of the day though to see the spirits of the past evaporate is so sad. No disrespect intended , this looks like a graveyard, haunting, You sure captured mixed feelings/emotions here. :)
