thnx again…..it was done while i was unable to walk (again) for a while….i did it rt after some surgery…was just thinking that perhaps if i had wings i wouldn’t ever have to worryy bout walkin lol….well….still have no wings, but i am walking again lol!!! i tried to have the birds take on human form as they touched her and she take on the form of a bird as well…never painted her wings cuz i knew the entire thing was just a thought lol

That why she’s so sad,I ‘ve always dreamed to be a bird,thanks for sharing Helene ,maybe you should paint one with wings.I know now why the finger shows the sky….this painting is magic…

This painting holds a magical restlessness…..the jumping off place, toes hanging over the edge, and only there will wings have their true meaning and purpose, right? Such a grounded blueness, but she has a plan!

I searched through your images and found one that spoke to me the most. I think this is an incredible image. So full of color and life and imagination that it brings me to a feeling of rejoice to know that there are other out there like me that have had bad things happen in their life or circumstances happen beyond their control which prevents them from reaching the sky. This however gives me a feeling of unending hope. I feel completeness in it. I think that it totally captures the journey of many artists….I never even knew, I had always had an interest in the arts. Then one day it hit me, Bam you are sad because you are not doing the things u want to do. I finally realized that there was more to my life. A yearning in my soul to break free and really go for my dreams. It is like you know that you belong somewhere else. You are a different breed than most and you see the world in unique and creative ways. Then it was like I had a realization inside that this is what I wanted to do and have been doing it for therapy. Nothing feels more free and I have never felt so alive in my life than when i am creating. The bird woman looks extremely sad. She wants to fly yet she has not yet grown her wings but she looks as if she is getting there from the view of her face. Looks like she is undergoing a wonderful transformation. May we all get our wings and fly!

People don’t understand that if you are an artist, it is not a hobby. It is who we are. Especially if you are from the South.

wowwwwwwwwwwwww. this one blows my mind with the way you think. and the things you have gone through. there is a quoate from Frida Kaholo. that reminds me of this painting.. and what she went through.. gosh, i wish i could remember how it says exactly.. but it has to do wit the wings also …. girl! this is amazing and deeply moving.. i dont know if I could laugh more or cry more with it. much abrasos
