I guess I just don’t like “anything” else to be too much like “everything” else….so call me eccentric if u wish…but even “eccentric” is too much of the “same”….Helene Ruiz

Art is my passion, religion and salvation. It is my way of surviving and coping. I paint what I feel, when I feel, Although most of my works are considered “surreal” in style by many, my work is actually my “reality” and my perception and creative expression of my life and my interpretation of my environment and the lives of others around me. There is no “correct” way to conclude the meaning behind my work as it is meant to reach inside of you and for you to decide how it relates to your soul, your life, your experiences. I love to paint, I cannot imagine my life without it, nor do I think I would have survived without it. Drawing and Painting is my true “freedom” as I can say whatever I want without restriction, and every painting began with a drawing first. This is how I can express myself when words are at a loss. All my works are hand painted… “old school style”.
The stories behind my works are many, I would love to hear how my works may relate to your stories.

I am very excited to have my art selected, from over 35,000 works of art, to exhibit in SoJie 4. SoJie 4 takes its name from the Solo Exhibition group’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. This month is only the 4th one, ever, and 55 other artists, besides myself, are represented.

Winners of the invitational will be announced on June 30th, when a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in three categories: digital art, photography, and traditional art.

Non members, as well as members, ARE welcome to view all of the work nominated. So I hope that you will click the show banner, above, and follow the link to view my fellow exhibitors. The works are shown “gallery size” and are beautiful, seen together.

If you do not belong to the group, Solo Exhibition, you cannot participate in commenting; and joining to comment is not encouraged. But you CAN lend support by commenting in my journal, here, about the show.
