Gaia - she is rising

Gaia - she is rising belongs to the following groups:

Lesbian and Bi-Women's Art and Spiritual Art

Gaia – she is rising

they shovelled her screams into the pit of silence
and told her nothing was wrong
but she is waking

they told her beauty was skin shaven clean
and denuded her of her undergrowth
but she is remembering

encased in her corset of asphalt, they dressed her
in roads and cities for their pleasure
but she is rising

she is rising like the mist on a clear, cold morning
millennia of sleep fall away from her like grieving
in the light of her regard nothing keeps its meaning
Gaia – she is rising

wow, thats awsome! I cant decide which is better, ur poems or your paintings! do you concider yourself to be an abstract expressionist? I have a presentation to do on the movement and I’d love to hear what you have to say abt it and maybe I could encorporate you as my australian artist (we have to find a local example, do an essay, a presentation, a time line and a leaflet! nibbles nails). add me on msn if you like, we can have a chat and I can do you a plug n my presentaion for ya help :D

She is indeed. Always the ultimate winner. No contest. Beautiful words that I wish I had known how to say, and a strong warning that I wish all could hear.

It certainly seems as Gaia is rising again, like Durga … wonderful writing Helene.

Yes, She is so beautiful…and then we start tinkering, covering Her up with asphalt and sewage, painting the air a putrid hue of gray. And She has begun to warn us of lately that She is about to take matters in Her own hands…but are enough of us listening? Oh Well. Great writing! Your imagery is fabulous.

chilling and lovely. she is rising – no question of that. and although, from one point of view, that bodes badly for human beings – it will be a beautiful act of freedom when she finally throws of her chains!
