Apt title – Ive long since stopped caring what society thinks or expects me to look like – but I can see how it has affected many folk I have known – A very moving image for me, this is, having had to cope in relationships in which bulimia was a major factor.

Helene, this is really fantastic work!! I love the way it’s blended to the point where it’s difficult to find a start or an end to the imagery (or the start or finish of the pressures imposed on us). The cracked-looking surface, like a network of nerves or bloodvessels, further evokes such a strong visual concept of emotional or psychological pressure.

Good work of art. It very strongly – even painfully – expresses the thoughts behind it. I think the image of women created by marketing and fashion mobsters is a crime against humanity. Fortunately there are other forces at work too: like the Dove campaign for natural beauty. Or like an initiativ from Leonard Nimoy (yes, the actor who played Dr. Spock in Startrek) called The Full Body Project.
