Perhaps the oldest and most well known of all mantras, it is said that all the teachings of the Buddha are contained within this mantra, and it can’t really be translated into a simple phrase. Buddhists believe that saying this mantra brings countless blessings, and just viewing the written form can have the same benefits. Om is said to be the primordial sound of the Universe, the original sound of creation.
I have chosen to use the Devanagari script as it is the closest translation of the original sanskrit mantra, with the familiar stylized version of the sacred syllable ‘om’.
