Franz Joseph Gall would be pleased with us both Helen! I have exactly the same head in my abode. This is a wonderful composition and the colouring is beautiful done, reminding us that their are different avenues available to us! Romantics at heart Helen!Sx
Sophie, can you read bumps and lumps on heads? I never hear of it being done anywhere these days. When I worked with manuscripts in a library there was a large donation of documents from a man and wife who grew rich on wool in the 19th century. When they married they had their heads read (ha! ha!) by a phrenologist who was visiting Melbourne at the time. Twas very fashionable once upon a time. Nice to know you have one of those heads too. Cheers Helen
wow, helen your composition is just great. the flowers seem to be communicating why one of the outer petals has a soft profile which is looking up at the bust with the phrenological bust and the placement of the binoculars is spot on. love how you can just make out the details on the skull however unable to read each one. i have a book on physiognomy which is really interesting. ;-) xox
This is absolutely beautiful! Would you consider consider putting your image into the Just Fun Group It would be perfect for the Still Life Challenge Thank you! Cheryl and the other Just Fun Hosts.
