oh wow, they’re finally renovating it .. i walked by this place on and off for years .. such a beautiful old place .. i think it was an old ball room too ..

Nicole, it was a ballroom/dance school for years-I wonder what happened to the polished floors. It looked so surreal with the scaffold holding up the facade. Cheers Helen xox

is the facade protected , so sad to see apartment replace history, would fit the unwanted and abandonned group

Philip, the facade will remain (National Trust or not I really don’t know). History will continue regardless and the apartments will give it another historical reference point. Poor old theatre—it has gone through many changes—including a well known ballroom dancing school for many years. It also had some very strange ‘architectural’ additions that were slapped up by a previous owner. Must go and take another look and a snap of the ‘progress’ made on the building.
