Excellent work me dear Milesey! You deserve a medal for finishing it yesterday in THAT heat! Lovely colours and lovely textures.
Helen Miles replied
Had the cooler on but that was drying the acrylic so fast I had to move my easel – no wonder it took so long! I’ve layered a gloss finish over the final coat which I’m not entirely sure I like, oh well done now. Very happy to finish this one and ta for the positive verdict Robbo!
Colin Cartwright
Impressive painting, Helen. I like the strong pasted texture – something I don’t get with my watercolours!
Excellent strong colour and light contrast.
Thanks for the visit.
Helen Miles replied
Thanks for your complimentary remarks Colin but watercolour has a magic and wonder all of its own. I like working with watercolour too but have to be feeling very calm and patient (hasn’t been happening a lot lately LOL!)

I know Kilmore… and I NEVER remember it looking so much like a Spring valley in France… your eyes sees what he rest of us miss… lovely!
Helen Miles replied
Thanks for your kind words! Kimore has some really lovely spots, it’s just a matter of knowing where to go and having your camera at the ready, however, I must admit I have taken a tiny bit of artistic licence here with the foreground colours, but don’t tell anyone! Thanks again for visiting :-)

I love this one Helen, a very special painting. I have always been unsure about painting a whole quadrant in acrylics but you have given me the confidence to try this art medium out in the future. This painting is a mixture of both simplicity and complexness and it really works. This painting would look good in any household.
