this mixed media collage work on canvas was done about a heritage tree, which was threatened by and sucumed to development, in our village York.
materials include,wax frottage [rubbing] of the ficus tree itself, building plans, woodcut print of grahitti on ficus trees,text,poetry,jigsaw pieces,dress pattern illustration,acrylic and watercolour paint, and other bits and pieces from vintage national geograhical magazines.

    thankyou susnah122. sadly this tree is finally no more, after numerous attacks on it. there is a sad ,empty space in yorks high street now, and the developers are moving in shortly. but….. it will live on in this and other art works made about it.

    It is wonderful that you did this : so much thought and bits of the real tree…fascinating and moving. I hate it when this type of thing happens and it is happening all the time; a city wanted to move an historical church because it was in the wrong place and style for the developers
