Sea Urchins, bravely displayed by the divers on a snorkelling trip (displayed to the non-snorkelers)

Welcome to the world of Hege Nolan. I’m fascinated by the world and everything it contains. There is a focus on food and still lifes here, which sometime surprises me given my past history of portraits! (well, food doesn’t move or pull silly faces)

They sure look sharp… holding them does not seems like a good idea…

  • The divers didn’t seem too worried, and while the spikes are painful, I don’t think they are deadly poisonous. but yes, very sharp, and I personally didn’t want to get too close!

This is kind of weird for me… I actually stepped on one of those puppies about 20 years ago. The needles are brittle and so they break off right at the skin level and they`re almost impossible to remove without cutting your foot open. Never got them all out.
    BRAVELY displayed indeed!!

  • You’re luckly you didn’t get infected! the dude dropped one and there was a mild panic when it started to “walk”. kind of funny.
