The last thing you expect to see at the top of a lightpole. This appeared to be his regular spot (the ground beneath was pretty much white!)
He was trying to sleep, so most of the time his neck was twisted around, with his head out of sight. He has a very flexible neck, we were laughing so much each time he adjusted himself.
Taken on the pier at Half Moon Bay in Blackrock.

Welcome to the world of Hege Nolan. I’m fascinated by the world and everything it contains. There is a focus on food and still lifes here, which sometime surprises me given my past history of portraits! (well, food doesn’t move or pull silly faces)

Great colours and composition, Hege – they’re such photogenic birds!! =D

  • Thanks Mieke, they are photogenic but quite odd looking, I love watching them in flight.
